LOGAN METRO SPORTS PARK

2018 – Crestmead, Brisbane

Logan City Council redeveloped and expanded their Logan Metro Sports Park in Browns Plains. The development included four new rectangular sports fields and two clubhouses along with ample parking for big events. The new clubhouses served as the training base and home ground for A League team the Brisbane Roar and the local football governing body Football Brisbane. By combining these two major stakeholders, the developed has become a prominent location within the Football community

Brisbane Roar’s Training Facility was developed to become a premier location for the Brisbane Roar. The training base included a full-size football pitch with associated change room, medical/physio room and kit room. This was supplemented by offices for the coaching staff, commercial kitchen and social space. The premier football pitch was set up to host low attendance matches with a spectator hill along the side of the pitch with a possible future development of a grandstand.

Football Brisbane’s Facilities acted as both the organisations’ head office and home ground for Football Brisbane events. The provision of three full-sized football pitches gave the organisation the flexibility to host local high profile matches such as National Premier League and community tournaments. In addition to offices spaces, the facility included a canteen, public amenities, match facilities (such as first aid rooms & referee’s rooms) and four spacious changerooms for the players.
